My favorite 10 bars (with a view)
One of the favorite activities of us Italians is to have an aperitif. Drinks, conviviality, good food, are a must to recover from a hard day’s work. Less demanding than a dinner, more glamorous than a simple coffee, having an aperitif in a nice place with a spectacular view is one of my favorite hobbies. And of course when I travel I don’t mind discovering special places where I can have a good drink. In today’s article, I point out 10 inevitable places for a top aperitif with a view!
1) Phi beach - Baja Sardinia (Italy)
Let’s start from my Sardinia. Essential place of my birthdays in recent years, the Phi beach has been named by the New York times among the most beautiful summer clubs in the Mediterranean. Overlooking the sea with an unmissable view of the Maddalena archipelago, close to a historic Napoleonic fortress among the suggestive rocks of Gallura, the Phi beach offers unforgettable aperitifs during which you can enjoy a unique sunset. Lounge atmosphere, exclusive like the whole Costa Smeralda, if you happen to be in the area you cannot give up this experience.

2) Sky bar at Grand Hotel Central - Barcelona (Spain)
Rooftop with infinity pool on the roofs of the Catalan capital, the Sky Bar of the Grand Hotel Central (splendid hotel in Barcelona a few steps from the Cathedral) has been counted among the rooftop bars most beautiful in the world. Its splendid swimming pool, the trendy setting and the 360 degree view of the Spanish city that opens up to the sea makes this bar one of my favorites. Access to the bar can be difficult without a reservation. If you stay in the structure as I did, the entrance to the area is always guaranteed as well as a priority reservation for a possible dinner.

3) Bar 54 - New York City (United States)
The tallest rooftop bar in the Big Apple on the 54th floor of the Hyatt Centric Times Square hotel (see my article on this hotel). This bar offers a 360 ° view of the New York skyline including the Chrysler Building and all of lower Manhattan. For the colder winter days, the option of tasting an excellent cocktail in a plastic igloo in an original and evocative setting, accompanied by good music, is very interesting. Definitely worth trying at sunset.

4) Terrazza Aperol - Milan (Italy)
a true status symbol of the Lombard metropolis, the sign of the famous Aperol that conquered the world with the famous spritz, welcomes visitors and Milanese, real experts in the art of aperitif, in the central Piazza Duomo in a unique terrace overlooking the Duomo and the entire surrounding area. Terrazza Aperol is an exclusive location, the orange color dominates the spaces in a youthful and eclectic atmosphere. Very popular, it is often difficult to find a seat. In any case, it remains a must for an aperitif in Milan.
5) Terrasse Place D'armes - Montréal (Canada)
On the top floor of the beautiful Hotel Place D’Armes in the center of Montréal‘s old town, this splendid bar, popular especially on summer evenings, offers spectacular views of the Place D’armes and the skyline of the metropolis of Quebec. Also perfect at lunchtime to enjoy an excellent lunch accompanied by a good wine. One of the best addresses in the Canadian city.
6) Etnea Roof Bar at UNA Palace Catania - Catania (Italy)
One of the best hotels in the Etna city, it offers a wonderful rooftop on the seventh floor from which you can admire Etna, the roofs of the Sicilian city and its baroque beauties. A unique, romantic and trendy atmosphere. To try.

7) Praia da luz - Porto (Portugal)
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Praia da Luz is one of the most popular beach bars among visitors to the Portuguese city. Excellent food to accompany a glass of Porto or a fruit cocktail and spend a relaxing evening admiring the sunset over the ocean.

8) Horizon Deck, Restaurant & Champagne Bar – Montecarlo (Monaco)
On the seventh floor of the Fairmont Monte Carlo hotel this terrace offers a complete view from the Casino, passing through the Opera to the sea. Excellent in the summer season to taste an excellent cocktail or take advantage of the excellent French cuisine menu that the hotel offers. One of my favorite places in the Monegasque city.

9) Level 43 Sky lounge – Dubai (United Arab Emirates)
During my last stay in Dubai I stayed at the Four points by Sheraton hotel in Downtown. On the 43rd floor of the hotel, in addition to a splendid infinity pool, there is the Level 43 sky lounge, one of the most beautiful panoramic bars in the Arab metropolis. The skyscrapers of Dubai will be at your feet and you will be able to enjoy excellent food and cocktails by observing the coming and going of cars on the road axes of the city and getting lost with a breathtaking view that extends to the sea and the desert.

We conclude by returning to my city. Cagliari offers many panoramic bars both in the historic center and on the sea. Being built on 7 hills, like Rome, there are many panoramic points in the Sardinian capital. One of my favorites is the Libarium Nostrum on the bastion of Santa Croce. This bar, among the most loved by the people of Cagliari, offers an unforgettable view of the historic district of Stampace, the Elephant tower and the splendid Sardinian sea. Ideal at sunset. A must for anyone staying in my city.
