When this health emergency will end, my advice is to organize a weekend in the Spanish capital, Madrid. This splendid city, rich in history, attractions and the home of nightlife, never ceases to amaze, with its historic buildings, the streets populated by thousands of people, its cuisine and the warmth typical of its inhabitants. If you decide to follow my advice, I propose the hotel that I chose during my last trip to Spain, the Barcelò Torre de Madrid.
This 5-star hotel, inaugurated in 2017, is located in one of the symbolic buildings of the capital, in the Tower of Madrid, a jewel of architecture, considered for many years the tallest concrete skyscraper in the world. The hotel was created by the famous internationally renowned Spanish designer Jaime Hayón.
Location
5/5
We are located on the central Plaza de España, the ideal point to start discovering the city. La Gran Vía, one of the symbols of the Spanish city is located within walking distance. The main monuments and attractions of the city are within a 10-minute walk to the Royal Palace, 15 minutes to the Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Efficient public transport is also accessible within minutes via the metro station on the Plaza de España.
Rooms
5/5
The hotel has 258 rooms, from single, deluxe, premium, deluxe and premium roomswith view offering large spaces, from 25 to 30 m2, furnished with style and equipped with all comforts. For those who love to pamper themselves, the choice must fall on a suite. It starts from the junior suite, double room with lounge and 45 m2 of perfect luxury and comfort in the center. If you are more demanding you can opt for the suite with 54 m2, double living room, meeting area, two bathrooms with possibly, for those who love panoramic views, the city view. For a princely stay you can not choose the Princesa suite or the Real suite (located on the 9th floor with an area of 49 m2 and a private terrace of 150 m2, perfect place from which to enjoy the best view of the city with all privacy you need).
Services
5/5
Like any good 5-star hotel that respects itself, the staff of the Barcelò Torre de Madrid works hard to guarantee its guests every kind of service to make their stay in Madrid unforgettable. For guests of the suites, the exclusive “Premium level” service is included, which includes B-like eat breakfast, the possibility of early check-in and late check-out, special welcome, a personal concierge who can satisfy all your requests ( from booking restaurants or excursions, advice on what to see and do and much more), Wi-Fi outside the hotel, access to the Premium Level Area (with the availability of newspapers, Snacks, Business Corner, etc.), open bar in the magnificent lobby bar, Garra from 7 to 8 pm, daily accessories in the room (fruit baskets, various sweets), access to theSPA area and much more to enjoy Madrid to the fullest! For an unconventional experience, the hotel offers a unique service that is rarely found in other hotels: the B-Locals. The B-locals are guides from Madrid, specialized in various activities, from fashion, to nightlife, to the visit of museums etc that will accompany you on your journey making you discover the Spanish capital in its depth like a true Madrilenian.
Common and refreshment areas
5/5
It starts from the sophisticated lobby bar, the Garra, where the skilled barmen can delight you with their creations. The hotel also has a business footprint for hosting corporate events or meetings in the various conference rooms. The Wellness area with a fitness center is located on the top floor of the building. The rooftopswimming pool is a real jewel of the hotel to relax and take a swim after spending a day traveling around Madrid. To satisfy the most demanding palates, you can rely on the Somos hotel restaurant, with its large windows overlooking the Gran Via, and its Spanish cuisine with an international twist.
To conclude, the Barcelò Torre de Madrid was, in my experience, one of the most beautiful and organized hotels I have stayed at. Design, professionalism, attention to detail make this structure ideal for those who want to experience a journey where the choice of hotel is not secondary to visiting the city but becomes an integral part of the holiday, making it unforgettable. Spain, like Italy, is experiencing a very difficult time. When all this ends, my advice is to discover, or rediscover, the charm of this land and its capital by entrusting yourself to a top-of-the-range hotel structure such as the Barcelò Torre de Madrid.
